ELAZAR'S TALE is a Graphic Novel project by writer and artist ALEC MONCRIEFF. Project management is being assisted by Dr. Stan Williams, owner of SWC Films and Nineveh's Crossing, LLC. The final products will be owned entirely by Alec, with 100% of the crowd-funding revenue going to Alec and his project expenses.

Based on a long form story Alec has written over the past two years as part of a Story Symposium school project, Alec will create an original 40-page, paperback, black and white graphic novel with a color cover, in pencils and inks, and end with the printing of a perfect bound book (approx: 7" x 10"). This first book will be one of six volumes, with the full-length adventure comprised of 240 pages in six volumes. There will also be some shorter, ancillary comics along the way--THE KATEPARIAN CHRONICLES. The story is about a revengeful Kateparian king who must fight his ally to rescue his wife and kids before they are sacrificed in the underworld. The video and copy below provide more information.

The story will be an underworld fantasy, action-adventure, which will center around the king and his rag-tag band of unlikely heroes. Each character will have their own unique set of goals/story arcs, along with a unique personality and eccentricities. The story will be told primarily as a comedy, though romance and rip-roaring adventure/adrenaline-pumping battle sequences will play equally major roles. (more below)

The storytelling, while in traditional graphic style, will be soulful and heart wrenching, giving readers a full range of emotions. The protagonist, Elazar is challenged to complete a series of physical goals, such as saving his wife and kids from being sacrificed, or making a sword for his younger brother. Along the way he's hindered by his own practice of revenge. But, in the end he learns the importance of forbearance and forgiveness. Meanwhile the antagonist stands in our hero's path, and seeks to crush Elazar with revenge.

As a writer and artist, Alec's objectives are to:

• Design a satisfying and engaging story, giving the reader an emotional rollercoaster.

• Create original characters in appearance and personalities, each with their own eccentricities.

• Produce a graphic novel with the tight look of a Disney movie with an East Asian ink and wash style known as sumi-e painting.

• Develop a story-world that combines traditional fantasy and psychological dimensions as unique physical locations.
