Solanus Casey Center Website

Inspired by the life and example of Venerable SOLANUS CASEY, the Center strives to be a place of pilgrimage, healing, reconciliation and peace.

St. Bonaventure Monastery

Founded in 1883, St. Bonaventure Monastery is home to many of the Detroit Capuchin friars.  Its presence is an anchor for the neighborhood of lower Eastside Detroit.  Its lit steeple provides a pathway to those seeking peace in the adjacent Monastery Chapel and Solanus Casey Center.

Detroit Capuchin brothers are involved in many ministries including a Soup Kitchen, where they tend to people’s basic need for food. They also strive to stimulate minds, nourish spirits, and address root causes of social injustice.  The BLESSING OF THE SICK in the Chapel is held EVERY Wednesday at 2:00pm and every FOURTH Sunday at 2:00pm.
